Outside of the image that we can have of children's games in schoolyards, jumping rope is a physical activity in which all or almost all boxers indulge, and not only for the warm-up as many observers would be tempted to believe. If the combatants particularly like it, it is because it is a complete exercise, which constitutes the basis of their training. The rope allows to work at the same time the muscular reinforcement of the legs, the abdominals, the back and the arms; speed and coordination of movement, essential skills for boxing; and endurance like "cardio".
At John Woodbridge, we wanted to design a new skipping rope that is both functional and elegant, with noble materials: raw wood for the handle, a brass clamping ring and leather for the rope. A non-laminated rope that will slip over time without losing material.
Free of all impersonal plastic, this old school-inspired sports object completes our “Gym” collection in an original spirit of harmony between body and mind, of union between sport and style.
