Road Trip (Part 1)

John Woodbridge Rolltop backpack on the back for only luggage, Guillaume has embarked this summer on the roads of the Alps in a five-biker team in search of freedom. Story of a trip on Triumph Scrambler, on the rhythm of engines and wild encampments in the light of the alpine peaks.

After 3 days on Lake Geneva under a summer heat, we leave for the mountains. Direction Martigny, Switzerland and its lakes of altitude. After bathing in the morning, noon and night, we now wanted to contrast while driving in the company of snow!

After a long crossing of the valleys of Haute-Savoie, leaving the great lakes behind, we are finally surrounded by mountains, forcing us to attack the climb to altitude. Long curves, more and more tight turns and finally the pins. The bottom of the air slowly starts to cool off. After a little over an hour's drive, we pass the 1500 meter mark, the sun says goodbye and we have to stop to cover ourselves. The bivouac of this day must be done on the banks of Lake Champex, a beautiful lake between snow-capped peaks, all culminating at over 2000 meters. The last pins are linked, we leave behind a slight pass, and suddenly the road reveals a long village lying on the banks of this small lake. The expanse of mirror-like water reflects the snows of the surrounding peaks and their orange ridges, lit by the last rays of sunshine of this incredible day.
